FOR the second week running the weather undermined Berwick's title challenge as their fixture with Civil Service at Riding Mill was an early victim of the rain. As in the previous week second placed Blagdon took advantage as they won their match with Northern Social to move within 12 points of Berwick at the top of the league

Berwick II v Tillside
BERWICK batted first in this local derby and were soon in trouble after Kev Logan took an outstanding one handed catch in the gully to dismiss the dangerous Benn. Tim McCreath hit a fine 30 and was supported by Wales but when both went in quick succession the other Berwick batsmen could not up the tempo in the last few overs as all of the Tillside bowlers kept their lines well. McGregor finishing with 4-14, with the innings closing on 89. In reply Tillside made a positive start with Ben McCreath and Keith Bickerton putting on 45 for the first wicket. The young Berwick bowlers Dom McCreath and Steven Emery however both bowled impressively picking up two wickets apiece and another great catch this time by Benn to dismiss Mat McCreath was a highlight of Berwicks fielding. It was then left to Tait and Hill to see Tillside home which they did with overs to spare.

This Years Event takes place on Sunday 24th August. It promises to be another fun filled day for all of the family. 4 teams from England and 4 from Scotland will once again do battle to try and wrestle away the crown from last years champions Glasgow Accies.
